Sengoku Basara Samurai Heroes PS3 - Review

This is the third installment of a series created in the last generation of consoles that tells the story of sixteen leaders Japanese Sengoku era (about 1600) through a series gameplay reminiscent of Koei Dynasty Warriors despite having a more flashy and playful The game, therefore, is a 3D scrolling beat 'em in battles which divided the two armies will clash in office, we command the general one of them and we make our way through hundreds of soldiers, defeating enemy officers, troops, special, infernal machines up to the fearsome "boss" at the end. Each character has their own abilities and characteristics, differing greatly from each other (more details tomorrow I will do a special on them) and therefore making the gameplay quite varied and deep. The various combo moves range from simple until you get to special abilities (three per person) and move Basara, runs only when the special bar is full (fills suffering or giving shots). The battles are all very different, even if the aim is always to take out the boss's turn, and are quite large even when compared to those of Dynasty seem decidedly skimpy but that's another story. Speaking of game modes, SB offers the player story mode and free mode. In the second we simply face a battle already unlocked previously in any way with the main character that we prefer, while in history, once we have selected the character, starting from a single region, bringing together the entire Japan under our flag and this is where the fun begins. Do you think that after every battle we will fight to take and decide which of these choices will lead to films and several dimensions, until it flows into real characters with alternate endings with some even five different endings. These various "roads" we're going to take several in a special menu will be saved so you understand what "roads" we still live. Realize that all this can be done in two via splitscreen can well understand that longevity is assured even if there is a problem and it is the repetitiveness of the battles. Not that they are repetitive and of itself (as I mentioned earlier are quite different), but imagining that we want to unlock all the endings always facing the same battles (about 30) you will realize that it does not work at all because while the battles in Dynasty Warriors When replayed, always assume different connotations in Basara battles are simply a forward base in the base without a bit of strategy, always equal to themselves (or almost) and then killed the replayability factor, which is very important in games like this. Technically speaking the game is very smooth even in splitscreen with dozens of enemies on screen. The graphics are very colorful and some places such as castles and fortresses are well done and bring us back to the old days of medieval Japan. The characters are manicured both graphically and with regard to the animations of the moves which also have very showy special effects. The sound mix grounds background often with well-chosen sound effects do their job. To underline the excellent English dub. Finally, a game that could be spoiled by a wonderful structure too repetitive. Only for fans of the genre or era.
