Samurai Warriors 3 is a 3D scrolling beat 'em up where they faced hundreds of opponents in the open field, was born as an offshoot of Dynasty Warriors. Unlike the latter SW3 is set in feudal Japan (Sengoku period, about 1600), a certain period tumultuous and full of wars, when many lords guera fought each other to expand their power. I will be 37 playable characters (including ninja, samurai, daimyo) and 30 of them will have story mode, where you can relive the exploits of our favorite character and battle through five related movies. The other way is the old Free Mode where you can play any battle, the historical mode where, with a character created by us by editor (a bit poor man), we can relive the whole Sengoku period, and finally how the castle where we MurasameMurasame reach and defeat the evil with the help of a samurai from the future named Takamaru, overcoming a long one of the rooms filled with traps and enemies with a lot of bosses. All modes except the mode of history, are also playable in two via splitscreen. Graphically the game looks like a tired old (except for the actors and special effects) with a broad enough field of battle but bare and graphically ugly. In addition the game supports neither nor the 60 Hz progressive scan, too bad. Voices (in English) did not convince me in this chapter with some really bad and other characters voiced so well, with very few exceptions. The music however, are always catchy and the sound effects are a little debolucci. To tell the truth, the whole project seemed hasty and superficial with too many features footage from the past almost as if they were copied and pasted from 2 in 3. The aspect that has undergone this treatment is more the gameplay, where all the moves of the characters (except the chance to slow down time) were identical to 2, what a disappointment. The battles are, in my opinion, without making them worse strategy (or almost) and directed by the console. For example, the battlegrounds are no longer open from the beginning of the battle as in the past but are limited by step required to make the battles more equal and free choice while in the past every battle changed the "form" in real time based on our merits or demerits, with different situations. Finally, a game for fans only, which is fun at first but that slowly get bored because of mechanical corny and because of wrong choices of the programmers. A real shame.rating 6
